I always thought it was an urban legend that parents could understand their kids even when the rest of the world could not. However, Mel does like to talk, and we can't always understand what she's saying - despite her best efforts to get her message across. Here are some of her translations of everyday language. There are, of course, other words she says perfectly clearly - these are just the highlights of the Melanieisms.

Fish = sheshe (accompanied by a fishy face)
Keys = pees

Bottle/Water = Baba/Wawa
Elbow = Elmo
Santa Claus = Hoho
